Rosh Chodesh Circle in Person

This month’s Rosh Chodesh circle will be an in-person gathering on the eighth and final night of Hanukkah, Sunday, December 5, 2021, at 7:00 PM. Contact Lucinda Kurtz to RSVP and to obtain the address for the gathering.

In North African countries, women have been celebrating the holiday Chag HaBanot, the Festival of the Daughters, on the seventh night of Hanukkah throughout the generations. This holiday links the heroism of Judith, the Jewish woman who saved her community from destruction, to the successes of the Maccabees which we celebrate during Hanukkah. We will dedicate this Rosh Chodesh Circle to all the women who have been important influences in our personal and social life.

Bring your Chanukah menorah if you wish to participate in the candle lighting. We will be placing all the menorahs on a central altar in the middle of our Rosh Chodesh Circle. You are also invited (but not required) to bring a snack to share if you choose.
