Shabbat and Sukkot

Dear all,
Moadim le-Simcha!! Happy Sukkot, just possibly my favorite of all the Festivals. Especially when the skies are clear!!! (Oh well, it’s getting more promising…)

Come join us at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 25, 2021 (on Zoom) as we celebrate the confluence (or do you say intersection?) of Shabbat and Sukkot. We will davven, chant, share insights, sing Hallel, do a special Breathing Meditation, and read from the book of Ecclesiastes, that most autumnal (and quasi-Buddhist?) of Jewish books! We will circumambulate (or do you say go round in circles?) as we sing Hoshana na!! Spare us, Bring us continued life and sustenance! There is even an opportunity to do a ritual with Water. (How much magic there is in Water!)Because there are so many goodies on tap, some of the usual parts of our service will be stripped down…We will do brief but deep dives into the key parts of the service. Sukkot is a chance to bask in the post-Yom Kippur and post-Summer Harvest, to express gratitude: to hold Bounty and not-Knowing, melancholy and Joy, all in the frame of Joy…To practice Trust, as the days grow shorter and the leaves redden. To you and your loved ones: Much joy, bounty from the Earth, and..
Shabbat shalom,
Reb Elliot
